REPORT ON SIR M. VISVESVARAYA DAY
Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Day is celebrated as ENGINEER’S day all over India on 15th September every year. This day was celebrated in NKES High School on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Το pay homage to this great Engineer from Mysore in whose memory the country celebrates Engineer's day, a number of activities and competitions were conducted in the School. The objective was to foster scientific temperament and competitive spirit among the students. Following is the list of activities conducted:
5th Class: Poster-making competition. Themes given were:
- Health and Nutrition
- Importance of cleanliness.
- 6th Class to 8th Class: Quiz based on –
- ISRO
- Importance of balance diet.
9th Class and 10th Class: PPT presentation on -
- AI (Artificial Intelligence)
- India's contribution towards Space Technology
Elimination rounds were conducted and Students participated with enthusiasm. The final round was conducted on September 14. A stage programme was conducted which began with a prayer and lighting of the lamp by the Management Committee members and the Headmistress. Students showcased their acting skills with a skit that detailed the importance of balanced diet
and the need to keep away from junk food. The students presented a PPT on Sir M. Visvesvaraya highlighting his life and achievements and why he continues to be an inspiration till date.
The Management Committee members, the Headmistress and the Supervisor were impressed by the enthusiastic participation of the Students. Shri. Parthasarathy Naik, President of the Management committee encouraged the Teachers to conduct more of such competitions and applauded the students. The winners were called on stage and awarded by the President with certificates and prizes. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to show gratitude to the Authorities, Teachers, Students and Peons for their contribution in making the event a grand
success.
